Messy Stories started as a YouTube channel where a real couple, Curtis & Honade, sit down and react to the kind of true, dramatic, deeply human stories that stop you mid-scroll — betrayals, marriages that imploded, family secrets, survival close-calls. What began as two people talking honestly about other people’s messes grew into a community of over 131,000 subscribers who come back, daily, for the drama and the realness.
Who we are
Co-host and the one who pauses the video mid-sentence to argue with it. Curtis picks the stories, runs the channel, and writes the takes that get us yelled at in the comments.
Co-host and the audience’s designated representative — if she gasps, you would have gasped. Honade keeps the takes honest and the verdicts fair, even when Curtis is wrong.
What we do here
This site is the home base for everything Messy Stories. Every story here gets a full written retelling with our own honest take — not a transcript, but the complete arc in our voice: our reactions, the warning signs we spotted, and what we’d have done. The original video is on every page if you want to hear the storyteller tell it themselves, but each article is written to be worth your time on its own.
Where the stories come from
Our stories come from our community — people who submit their own experiences — and from publicly shared accounts. We change or remove identifying details to protect the people involved, and we treat every story with respect. The recaps, the takes, and the editorial judgment are ours. In July 2026 we launched Messy Talks Show, our relationship debate podcast, as part of the Messy Stories family. Same honesty, longer format, more arguing.
